Stoddard Ranch is located off Crow Creek Rd between Powderville and Hammond, MT along the historic Deadwood to Miles City Stage Route.  The area we ranch in is a challenging climate.  It can reach extremes of over 100 degrees in the summer and 50 below zero windchills in the winter.  

Montana is not for the faint of heart!  Its' beauty is magnificent.  But, it is a hard country to live in.

Ranching is our life and passion as well as our business.  We strive to provide the highest quality beef product to consumers and operate on over 50,000 acres between Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota.  Northern origin SimAngus feeder cattle and calves produced in Montana are well known for their quality genetics.  We are blessed to live in an area where cattle thrive naturally.  We provide a quality health and mineral program to assure strong animals.  Match the genetics to your environment, give them the nutrients they need, and cattle will take care of themselves!

Much of the land where we run cattle is inaccessible by motorized vehicle.  Horses and cowboys are still a way of life in the region where our cattle are produced.  It is not just a job - it is a way of life!

Steve and Julie joined forces to work toward expanding their ranching operation in 2014.  Together they have built upon what Steve's father had begun and now run cattle in SD, WY and at the home ranch at Hammond, MT.
